This Shop Theory - Henry Ford Trade School handbook was printed in 1946 and is a revised version of the 1934 publication. It has 267 pages, and while the cover has damage, the pages are all there and intact. The previous owner glued a bookplate with his name onto the inside (please see photos).
It's a key resource for understanding the technical skills and theoretical knowledge that shaped vocational training in the mid-20th century.
This is a book about the school trying to stimulate boys to think for themselves by working out practical problems and doing practical work. Their textbooks are the basic things, the materials and forces of nature and human society.
