The seeds of New Age spiritual awareness has its roots in the late 19th and early 20th century. Swami Vivekananda was introducing the Indian philosophies of Vedanta and Yoga to the Western world. Interest in spiritualism, Tarot, divination, astrology and all manner of occult practices was on the rise.
